BTB Australia

Welcome to BTB Australia

BTB Australia has established itself over the years as one of the country’s leading Directional Drilling and Civil Works contractors.

We have highly trained and experienced staff with a wealth of experience to offer in relation to undertaking construction works, whether it is construction of communication networks, gas pipeline installation or installation of sewer and water services.

Directional Drilling

Horizontal directional drilling is a relatively new technique for the installation of underground utilities.  It allows for the installation of utilities including gas, water, sewer, and electricity and communications cables without the need for the usual social costs associated with open trench installations such as disruption of traffic flows, damage to highways, walks, driveways, lawns and gardens

  • Delivers maximum efficiency and reduces restoration costs that are associated with trenching
  • Capable of handling large and small drilling projects
  • Bores from 30 metres up to 1,000 metres in length
  • Boring from 25mm to over 2000mm in diameter
  • Results in a cleaner and more environmentally – friendly job site
  • Reduced the need to remove or reinstate expensive land scaping or environmentally sensitive objects
  • Significantly reduced impact on business and residences in close proximate to worksite
  • No long term costs to continually reinstate trenching due to settlement and eliminates possibility of trip hazards to the public

Sewer Installations

Directional drilling is currently being used to install pressure sewer systems for some water authorities because it is far more cost effective in that main lines can be bored down streets and branches can be installed into houses under garden areas, driveway and paths efficiently and effectively.

BTB can also install gravity sewers which require a specified fall in which the hole is augured  and cleaned to the required size and a pvc pipe is manually installed.

BTB can also supply a complete service which connect the sewer network to scouer valves and air valves, and pressure test the system prior to hand over.

Multiple Pipe Installations

BTB specializes in multiple pipe installations for various authorities and contractors.

Pipes range from twin 110mm up to 16 x 110mm conduits.

Install a combination of power and communications in the one bore is cost effective and less time consuming than multiple bores.

Trenching

BTB have trenchers that can excavate open trenches from 150mm to 600mm in width to depths of 2 metres in all soil and rock conditions.  We have experienced operators that understand the care required not to damage existing services or the environment.

Various chains can be used to cut shale, soft or hard rock for pipe installation.

Pit and Pipe Works

BTB runs a number of open cut crews, whom carry out a range of works including:

  • Installation of conduits;
  • Plastic and concrete pits installation up to 20t
  • Linking bores and trench works
  • Roding and roping
  • Cable hauling
  • Grundomat boring up to 110mm
  • Bed boring up to 350mm
  • Core boring & building entry

Non-Destructive Digging

BTB has a small fleet of Non Destructive Diggers ranging from 6,000 litres to 10,000 litre units with up to 3,000 cfm vacuum pumps.

The system works by using high pressure water and air combined with a vacuum to clean away soil from around the services.

As well as being the safest option this system also eliminates the costs and delays of damages.

The Non Destructive Digger also has a jetty system that cleans drains and blocked conduits.

This is a method of locating existing assets/services and eliminating the risk of damage when pin pointing their location.  Major uses include the location of Rail communications and signal cables, telecommunications networks with optic fibre and high voltage power, water and gas mains.

Vacuum Truck

BTB also runs a number of Vacuum Trucks which are used for the removal of drill fluid and de watering manholes and other non toxic waste, the tanker unit can lift liquid up to 5 metres in depth.
